Margaret thought that it would be a nice surprise to make a Kolam (flower offering) for our visitors arrival. So she enlisted the help of her two daughters Jasmin and Pretty, they came armed with a bag of sweet smelling flowers and petals to make this beautiful arrangement. They got to work outside our front door with lots of chatter, laughs and even a disagreement or two. Victor also made his presence felt with a bit of advice thrown in.
It was great to watch them create this and it made me feel quite envious that this was something that comes so naturally to them, but give me a bag of flowers and I wouldn't know where to start.
Mum, Dad and Kerrie certainly did get a great surprise when they arrived at the apartment and there was lots of Ohh's and Ahh's and lots of photo's taken. How lucky we are to have such wonderful help and great friends in Margaret and Victor. They where both just as excited to have our family staying here and are now constantly asking after them, I guess in a lot of ways they have become our Indian Family...

What clever girls to be able to make such a beautiful arrangement with a bag full of flower petals!! I reackon you'd do a pretty good job Meg's if you had a dip....
